HIKING HEARTS WE HIKE TO HELP.

MY NAME IS BRANDY SALES...

I started the Hiking Hearts organization to share my love of hiking, with my family, friends, and friends to be. I look forward to helping organizations, bringing new experiences to people, and setting a positive example for my Daughter, Braelyn, and my Son, Brevin, and others in the world. I am not a hiking expert but I am a person that is passionate about recreational hiking and the fun it can be for families and friends.

OUR GROUP STARTED...
On September 10, 2011. On that day I decided to hike Mount Watatic, Mount Wachusett and Weir Hill. While hiking all three I kept thinking, "How can I get more people motivated to hike and live a healthier lifestyle?" The answer was, we should hike to help local charities.

By October 1, 2011 our vision was in place. We launched thehikinghearts.com (our old site) and we had a team of 10 hikers ready to "Hike for Hunger." We trained for one and a half months with as many friends and family members as possible and we raised money by showing our dedication.

On November 12, 2011 we did our first fundraiser hike on the Wapack Trail in central MA. In the end we raised $1,310 for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, enough to feed 4,000 people.

Just as we started to organize for 2012 a personal challenge happened in my life.  On November 30, 2011 my Mom was diagnosed with cancer. Five days later my response was The Cancer Challenge 2012. The amount of responses and support that we received from this announcement was amazing.

Since then our focus has been raising money to fight cancer. Our story goes on as we have added services, programs and events to our organization.

We will continue our philanthropic dream and I personally invite you to join in the fun!
